An Infrared Look – North California

  • Golden Gate Bridge – San Francisco
  • Half Moon Bay
  • Pfeiffer Big Sur
  • Yosemite National Park
  • Islay Cliff Trail (technically Central California)

A few months ago I had the opportunity to do this crazy road trip from Kansas to Los Angeles, then drove up the coast up to San Francisco, and back to Kansas. During this trip I was joined by Ces, let me briefly tell you a bit about him. All the projects I’ve done so far have been with him and we have a few more planned. He loves traveling, the outdoors, and is an overall good companion, always looking for his next adventure or story to tell. Here’s a picture of him.

At first we were trying to shoot some stuff in infrared, then Ces would change the OLPF on the camera, and would shoot “regular” footage. However half-way through the trip we decided we would only shoot infrared and see what would happen.

Back in April I posted a video I called “Abandon” which was a result of what we shot during that trip. However, I rushed the editing of that video because I wanted to present it to a few people during NAB in Las Vegas, so I only had a day to cut it. All that to say, the video got a way better response than I anticipated, but in my mind it wasn’t really finished, so I sat down and revisited the footage. I took a slightly different approach and narrowed it down to footage of North California only.

I hope you guys like it, if you have any questions about the project you can ask me in the comments section below.

…and oh! Here are some pictures I took during the production of this video.
